According to reports, Proview is now moving in to sue Apple in the US. Proview filed suit against the Cupertino company in the Superior Court of the State of California in Santa Clara County.
Proview claims that Apple bullied them into the selling them the iPad trademark. Saying that that acted with “oppression, faux and/or malice” when they bought the trademark.
However, Apple says that they purchased the trademark legally and claims that “Proview refuses to honor their agreement with Apple in China, and a Hong Kong court has sided with Apple in this matter.” Well, if Hong Kong courts are siding with Apple, all we can say is good luck Proview. Looks like if Proview can’t win in China, they will try to win in the US. We doubt things will change, but it’s still an interesting case to follow.
