Steve Jobs was awarded a special posthumous Grammy by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. It was presented last night during the televised awards show, and senior VP of internet software and services at Apple Eddie Cue was there to accept.
The speech is very great, and it’s cool to see Cue accept the award on behalf of Steve’s family.
We don’t quite remember where we heard it, but we remember someone saying that Steve Jobs changed the music industry more than anyone even though he was never in a band or part of any label. The iTunes store made people want to actually buy music again. Sure, there will always be folks downloading for free, but iTunes actually made people want to buy their music at a dollar a song.
