Spaceport.io recently ran a study to see how various smartphones and tablets stacked up against each other when it game to HTML5 rendering. As it turns out, iOS beats Android when it comes to working with HTML5 web standards.
The Galaxy Nexus topped out all other devices running Android, which were all running older versions of the operating system. It was also found that the most recent versions of both Android and iOS are vastly improved in their HTML5 rendering capabilities.
That said, iOS still tops the others, says All Things D, when if comes to HTML5. The iPhone and iPad far outpace the Galaxy Nexus.
Spacepourt.io founder Ben Savage (not pictured above) says that HTML5 is getting faster over time, and while “this is a welcome trend, there is still a long way to go.”
