Do you want a larger screen on your iPhone?
A new report is claiming that the next iPhone will have a larger screen. This is a rumor we’ve been hearing for a while as many rival devices are starting to come along with larger screens. Reuters is reporting, via Maeil Business Newspaper of South Korea, that Apple is already placing orders with suppliers and looking into a 4.6-inch screen for the next iPhone.
It’s difficult to confirm whether or not this report is accurate as it seems that everyone cites “upstream suppliers” as a source, then we see nothing when launch day comes around. Still, it’s making enough rounds on the internet to take a look at it.
Here’s a portion of the Reuters report:
Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch display for its next iPhone and started placing orders to its suppliers, the Maeil Business Newspaper said, quoting an unnamed industry source.
Of course it would be a Retina display, much like what is on the current iPhone and even the new iPad. This means a high-def display that packs enough PPI (pixels per inch) to make them invisible to the human eye under ideal circumstances (i.e. when held a set distance from the eyes on a user with 20/20 vision.).
