We picked up SpinCam for iPhone a few weeks ago. We really liked it, but we just didn’t get around to posting about it. It makes it easy to take and share panoramic shots. You can stay in one spot and spin steadily, or you can walk in a circle and keep the camera centered on an object. This creates a panorama.
You can share the images with Facebook friends and more. The cool thing is that they can watch it without having to use the app, directly from their browser.
The thing to keep in mind is that your device must have a gyro. This means that the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (4th-gen) and iPad 2 and new iPad are the devices that can make use of it. Though you’d probably look kind of silly holding up an iPad.
It’s very easy to use the application. It literally involves nothing more than launching the app, hitting a button and spinning. This creates a panorama. There are also several you can check out on the site. Some of the cool ones feature that “Matrix” effect. It will be two buddies, posed. One is pretending to punch or kick the other, and a third friend walked around them. It makes for a still shot in which the viewer can pan around the image for a cool-looking, yet goofy effect.
It’s also free. that’s always nice.
Go Get it
We recommend it. It’s free, there’s some neat tech behind it and it make my non-iPhone-owner friends say “Dang, I want that app.”
