Turns out that the folks who created Mac Flashback haven’t given up. They have released a new version. The good news is that it still makes use of the same Java security hole, so it doesn’t’ sound like bad news if you’ve already updated. However, the bad news is that it’s not currently detectable.
Also discovered, and reported by HardMac, the software cannot be installed on a computer that is running an antivirus or Little Snitch. In a nutshell, if you have the most recent firmware, you are okay. If you have not installed it, you should, or this Flashback thing can be a real pain.
We also learn today that Mac is more common on Macs than many may have thought.
