Australian iPad wifi+4G buyers are now entitled to a refund.
We recently learned that Apple would be refunding shoppers who picked up a new iPad wifi+4G if they purchased it thinking that the tablet would come equipped with 4G connectivity. Unfortunately, the tablet does not work with 4G networks in Australia.
This caused some problems for some regulators who felt that the device was marketed as 4G, even though it was not capable of such connection speeds. However, Apple’s box did make it clear that the 4G connection would not work in that territory. Furthermore, they remind online shoppers of this fact while they are checking out and purchasing the tablet. We then heard that they would be offering a refund to those who felt they were cheated.
