According to Consumer Reports, the new iPad is the best tablet available. That said, they are still docking it for heat issues (though slightly).
They had the following to say about the tablet:
“The high-resolution screen of the new iPad establishes a new benchmark in excellence, providing the best rendering of detail and color accuracy we’ve ever seen on a tablet display…As a result, the iPad tops our new tablet Ratings, posted today.”
They also mention the performance, photo quality of the 5MP camera and the speed of the 4G LTE connection it provided. On top of all that—and even with all that talk of new iPad battery issues—Consumer Reports says that it still has the best battery life of all tablets.
As for the heating and battery charging, they didn’t have much to say. They said yes it does get warmer than the iPad 2 ever did, but it’s not a cause for concern. They also said that the battery charging is not a problem and they only ran into any issues when playing demanding apps at full brightness, etc. Otherwise it charges, even though it takes a bit longer.
