According to reports, Apple and Proview are talking things over in their recent iPad trademark case. They are discussing possible settlement terms. The original report comes from IDG News, which spoke to a lawyer for Proview.
Not much else was said as the lawyer did not want to share additional details (understandably).
Now for a quick little history: Proview claims that Apple is selling the iPad in mainland China without having acquired rights to the name. However, Apple did buy the trademark, but Proview’s allegation is that Apple’s rights to the name to not include them in the area they are selling. Proview also said at one point that Apple used some not-so-friendly means to acquire the trademark. Proview is also known to be in dire straights right now.
