There are multiple reports of users wanting to unlock their AT&T iPhones emailing Tim Cook’s office and having the carrier make an exception.
Apparently, AT&T has some strict rules when it comes to unlocking. They sometimes just won’t do it. Their policies aren’t entirely clear. One thing does seem clear, however. Tim Cook can unlock iPhones.
According to website 9to5Mac, iPhone users who email Tim Cook about their AT&T iPhone unlocking have received special exceptions from AT&T unlocking their iPhone. Yeah, it’s no surprise that AT&T is willing to make an exception for someone at the request of Apple’s CEO.
Perhaps they will get a few of these, Tim Cook’s office will get tired of the emails and tell AT&T to just make their unlocking policies clear.
