Epic, known for the Unreal Engine and popular game franchises such as Gears of War, is no doubt on of the most popular and successful developers of this generation.
That said, their most profitable intellectual property (IP), according to CEO Tim Sweeney, is Infinity Blade for iOS. The series has brought them in more than $30 million.
Here’s what Sweeney had to say at a recent keynote:
“The most profitable game we’ve ever made, in terms of man-years invested versus revenue, is actually Infinity Blade. It’s more profitable than Gears of War.”
That’s not entirely shocking. Though Gears of War likely pulls in much more money, it’s also much more expensive to develop than Infinity Blade. It’s no wonder they have developed so many sequels.
