Apple’s Mountain Lion developer preview has a new security feature. It’s automatic security updates.
This is Apple trying to protect OS X users from malware and viruses by having the computer search for and install security updates without them having to do so themselves. As we know, many users tend to put off their system updates, and that leads to problems with their computers.
Of course we heard a lot about the Flashback Malware a few months back, and that obviously caused some concern for Apple. Auto-updates like these may not be a bad idea for the average user.
Mountain Lion will be available in July on the Mac App Store for $19.99.
