With yesterday’s release of Mountain Lion for Mac, Apple removed Lion from the Mac App Store. This meant that users who had purchased the operating system were seemingly left with no way to re-download it in the event that they need to. That could be a major problem. Luckily, that’s not the case.

It’s actually quite easy to re-download the software. Keep in mind that this only works if you previously purchased the software and just want to re-download.
1) Go to the Mac App Store.
2) Go to the Purchases tab.
3) You will have to Option-Click on “Purchases” to make the Lion icon pop up on the list. When this happens, you can re-download Mac OS X Lion (1o.7).
From there, you can create the bootable drive: Link
