Apple may be releasing an adapter that will make it easy to use Apple’s classic 30-pin iOS dock connector to the upcoming iPhone.
The next iPhone, which many are calling the iPhone 5 for simplicity’s sake, is rumored to have a smaller dock connector. This has been rumored for some time, and often caused worry for some because we knew that this could mean a whole new line of iOS dock connectors for our iPhone.
This was not only a concern to accessory makers, but to consumers as well. This meant accessory makers would have to manufacture new accessories while consumers would have to buy them.
The good news is that Apple is said to be working on an adapter. This will make it possible to connect older accessories to the new iPhone.
Here’s a small portion of the report:
“We haven’t heard if one will be included in the box along with the iPhone 5, or will only be sold separately, but either way, come October, you’ll be able to get a new-to-old Dock adapter from Apple.”
Great to know.
