We suggest talking this one with a grain of salt. It’s just a rumor for now, and there is no way to confirm the validity of the sources. However, if the report is accurate, the iPhone 5 is set for an announcement on August 7th.
If that’s the case, we may see the press invites show up late in July. That said, if the report is at all accurate, we can probably expect the iPhone 5 to release on August 14th, a week after that rumored announcement date.
This would be a couple of months ahead of last year’s announcement for the iPhone 4S, which happened October 2011 with a launch a week later.
We keep hearing rumors of a slightly larger iPhone and most recently, we heard that the FaceTime camera would be centered on the top-front of the handset.
Perhaps more hints of a sure release date will emerge in the coming months. It’s also important to remember that there is also a rumored iPad mini up for release this year.
