Apple is said to be working on an iPad mini. If true, it’s going to be a seven-inch tablet. There are already a few size comparisons going around the internet, and if the tablet is real, it’s likely that it won’t be quite the size of a Kindle Fire or Nexus 7. Instead, it’s likely to be more like a shrunken iPad. It will maintain the aspect ratio, meaning the the screen will be a tad larger and the tablet will be a bit wider than the other devices. That said, even a small amount can make a huge difference on a screen that size.
The iPad mini has been rumored for quite some time. It’s not confirmed, and we can’t be sure that it’s real, but it’s already been reported on numerous times. At this point, we can probably count on it, but we’re inclined to believe that even if Apple were to introduce it, they’d hold it over for when they announce the fourth-generation iPad. We could be wrong, but it makes sense to wait a few months.
Still, some reports say that Apple will announce it alongside the new iPhone. That could happen, but it just seems much less likely given that the iPhone is usually a device that deserves its own event. If something else is announced, it’s usually a quick announcement and thrown in as a bit of an extra.
