Apple has finally released the new iPad in China. This is after several months in many other territories and a legal battle with Proview who argued that they held the iPad name in mainland China.
Also different was the fact the launch went well. There were no fights or riots due to limited quantities. This has something to do with the reservation system they introduced a while back after the last time they had a crazy iDevice launch.
This system allows for customers to reserve a device ahead of time and pick it up the next day at an assigned time. This helps so that potential buyers aren’t flooding the doors at their Apple Store.
