Apple has spent more than $1 billion dollars in iPhone and iPad advertising since the original iPhone launched. This comes from Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior VP of worldwide marketing.
Christina Bonnington for Wired, who is at the trial tweeted:
Apple has spent over $647M for iPhone advertising expenditures since its launch. $457M for iPad.
That works out to over $1 billion dollars. That’s a ton of money, and is probably a major reason that both devices have seen such success. Apple has some deep pockets, so a little advertising isn’t something they are opposed to. Especially when that advertising pays back enough to make them one of the most successful companies in the world.
