Some folks just punk’d the internet. A Swedish design company created a 3D model of a screw, a very complex screw at that, and somehow started circulating the rumor that it was part of a new Apple device and a way for the Cupertino company to lock out folks who want to crack open their own iOS devices.
Well, it was fake. Still, it was widely reported, and some sites did report with a bit of skepticism alongside their stories. Still, the rumor hit the internet and hit the social networks. Now it’s all over the place, and we’re sure some people still believe it.
Oh well, that just goes to show how quickly an Apple-related rumor spreads.
