A Mock-up of what the iPad mini is expected to look like, more or less.
According to DigiTimes (anytime a story starts with that, you know to take it with a healthy dose of skepticism), Apple’s suppliers will be ramping up iPad mini manufacturing through September, somewhere in the realm of 4 million units per month, in order to prepare for an October launch.
What’s weird is that we’ve been hearing so much that the tablet is supposed to launch alongside the iPhone 5 in late September. It’s unclear which it is.
Honestly, we don’t put much stock in anything DigiTimes reports anymore, but it’s stuff we have to keep up with. Just take it with a grain of salt, but keep in mind that the publication is right on occasion, so file it in your memory bank as “maybe.”
