iPod Nano Shortages Could Mean an Update in the Near Future

According to reports, Apple hasn’t been resupplying retailers with iPad nanos. There are rumors that Apple will be refreshing the device in time for September, which will be when the rumored iPhone 5 and iPad mini are set to launch. It could be a full iDevice refresh across the board.

As 9to5Mac points out, Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy are all experiencing shortages of the iPod nano.

It’s not clear what the redesign will be, but we imagine it could be similar to the current model with the exception of a new dock connector. We’ve also heard rumors that it will be like a smaller or slimmer iPod touch, but runs on the iPod OS rather than iOS.

Oh well, who knows? Apple does.
