Cygnett’s iPhone 5 Drop Test

The iPhone 5 is supposed to be a good deal tougher than the previous handsets. Here, it goes through a drop test. It falls on cement from a distance of roughly four feet.

Surprisingly, it holds up pretty well. This is a bigger drop than some of us may put our iPhones through (unless we are holding it up to our ear when it falls), but it’s nice to see that the damage wasn’t nearly as bad as some of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S units we’ve seen.

Sure, it’s damaged, but it’s some scratches and not a totally shattered screen. Always nice when you don’t have to pick shards of glass out of your ear after using a broken iPhone.

Of course a case maker would never drop an iPhone without trying to sell you a case. Right? Of course not. Link
