The App Store in iOS 6 went through a major overhaul. It takes a bit of getting used to, but we think we can see what Apple was trying to do here. It seems that the idea overall with iOS is about quick access that can be reached with one hand/thumb when needed. In that sense, the new App Store seems to work. However, it has been known to be slow for some users, and it seems to happen at random.
OS X Daily came up with a fix.
Users can go to Settings>Privacy>Location Services
From there ,they scroll down and hit System Services>Genius for Apps: Off
Close (through the multitask pane) and relaunch the App Store. You should be good to go.
