Replying to questions on Twitter, Planetbeing had a few things to say about the Dev-Team’s upcoming jailbreak.
He mentions that the iPhone 5 jailbreak is almost done. However, it’s tethered and requires a developer account.
Upgraded the #failbreak with a kernel exploit so tweaks actually work on iPhone 5. Almost a full tethered JB, though need dev account.
However, when asked about the releases, he explained that the exploits that come with these jailbreaks have to be preserved for worthwhile relesaes:
These exploits are valuable for discovering new ones in the future, so it’s nice to keep them and release only the good ones.
It’s likely we would try working on an untether for awhile. No sense burning 3 vulns for tethered when 4 will get you untethered.
It looks like things are on the way, but we will be waiting for a while before anything releases. However, the dev-team is waiting, so that they can release a better jailbreak in the end.
