BookBoard is an upcoming app for iPad that offers a Netflix-like service, but for children’s eBooks. At least that’s how website PaidContent describes it.
The company was started by former Adobe folks Fang Chang and Nigel Pegg. They way it’s designed to work, kids will gain access to more books as they read more. Parents can set up accounts for their children. They will be able to read through the service. However, it’s said that the books will not have interactive widgets or games built within, as some eBooks do. This is because the app makers want the focus to be on the reading experience rather than interactive games.
