Cinemark has announced a feature within their existing app called CineMode.
Users launch the app and are asked to set their handsets to vibrate. When the movie is over, they can get a digital coupon offering them a discount for the next movie they watch. Of course this works out for everyone. People are encouraged to silence their handsets, and they get a coupon for it. In turn, someone goes back to the movies to use that coupon.
It’s a cool idea, and rewarding people for not being disruptive jerks is an interesting way to go about it.
