It turns out that the iPhone 5 is a tough phone to build. Just ask Foxconn. The demand is high, and quality control is a toughie for the company that assembles the device.
Those factors are making it tough to meet Apple’s standards.
Reports say that they now have their subsidiary, Foxconn International Holdings (FIH) starting to share some of the workload and build their own units, but Chairman Terry Gou would not comment on that. It’s also been reported by the Wall Street Journal that the iPhone 5 is the most difficult device Foxconn has ever had to build.
