Looks like the awesome thin iMac we saw earlier this year may not be available immediately. The 21-inch iMacs were slated to be released in November, while the 27-inch models were set for December. Seems it may not happen, if rumors are correct.
According to the reports, there are problems with the welding process. As Ars Technica reports, they use a “high-pressure welding technique simialr to that used to assemble wings for aircraft such as the Airbus A380.” Mass-producing computers using this method seems to be causing issues the company hadn’t anticipated. This is slowing things down.
