Reports are flying around the internet that Apple is talking to suppliers about getting the iPad mini ready for a Retina Display. Of course this is pretty obvious news. They were probably working on getting a Retina display for it before the tablet was announced.
Whether they see it as a reason to entice users to upgrade a year from now, or because they didn’t have the supplies to meet demand, we don’t know. It’s also been said that it was a sure-fire way to ensure that all iPad apps worked correctly on day one. Either way, a Retina iPad mini is an obvious feature for whatever they release in 2013.
If reports are accurate, the resolution will be 2048×1536 and a pixel density of 324ppi.
