Griffin, the makers of several accessories and add-ons for iOS devices, are opening up some small retail stores throughout malls in the US.
It’s five stores, so it may not be in your area, but it sounds as if they want to do a little holiday trial run before committing to having locations at more malls.
They do have some of the most popular accessories, so it’s not hard to imagine them doing fairly well.
Below is the press release they issued with the announcement and details on locations:
Nashville, Tenn. – December 13, 2012 – Griffin Technology, one of the world’s foremost creators of innovations for everyday life, opened five MicroStores beginning in November. The MicroStores are Griffin’s effort to give consumers a unique opportunity to interact with and experience Griffin products in a way they are unable to anywhere else. The MicroStores in San Jose, Seattle, San Francisco, Nashville, and Annapolis are Griffin’s first US-based stores, following the opening of the company’s first-ever retail location in London across from the Olympic Stadium in Westfield Mall at Stratford City.
“Griffin has been leading the way in developing innovative and groundbreaking accessories for the past 20 years,” said Mark Rowan, President of Griffin Technology. “Opening these MicroStores is the next step for us in sharing our vision and products with consumers at first hand.”
The interactive MicroStores allow consumers to immerse themselves in the Griffin brand and experience Griffin’s products in the environment for which they are designed. Each MicroStore will play host to all of Griffin’s key products, which include an extensive collection of iOS cases easily accessible for consumers to touch and interact with, Griffin’s leading range of in-car accessories, a toys station for demoing remote-controlled helicopters and vehicles, and a broad assortment of other accessories. Kids will have the opportunity to play and create artwork at the child-height Crayola demo station using Griffin’s popular Crayola-branded products. A Charge Bar will also be open for charging mobile devices, for learning more about Griffin products, and for surfing the Internet.
Griffin’s MicroStores are located at Westfield Annapolis in Annapolis, Maryland; Westfield San Francisco Centre in San Francisco, California; Westfield Southcenter in Seattle, Washington; Westfield Valley Fair in San Jose, California; and CBL Properties Cool Springs Galleria in Franklin, Tennessee just outside Nashville, where Griffin is headquartered. The Cool Springs MicroStore features a unique 32 foot tall Griffin-branded tower visible from both the first and second floors.
