The iPad is quickly becoming relevant in the magazine business. Many publishers are making their content available on Apple’s platform.
According to a recent survey, 87 percent of magazines and newspapers in the US have an iPad version. The report further notes that while iOS is definitely the leading platform when it comes to this content, makers are increasingly starting to focus on other mobile platforms as well.
It’s also mentioned that more newspapers are making use of paywalls, which means that potential readers must pay in order to view content in full. This is not a necessarily a new practice, but it’s only recently becoming mainstream.
On a personal note, it’s nice to avoid all that old magazine clutter at home, or have to worry about throwing them away or recycling.
