The iPad mini was one of the hottest holiday items in 2012. According to reports, Apple is not quite meeting demands for the device. They were aiming to ship 10-12 million, but only reached about 8 million.
The original report comes from DigiTimes, so it may not be entirely accurate, as they aren’t the most reliable. Still, a look at the online Apple Store does show that iPad mini shipments are delayed by one week. There are also various reports of the tablet being unavailable at stores, though this kind of thing isn’t unheard of around the holiday season. Most hot consumer electronics are tough to find in the week leading up to Christmas and maybe a week or so after.
We’re sure supply will catch up by the new year.
