The 128GB iPad is now available for purchase on Apple’s online store. It can be picked up in both wifi and wifi+cellular flavors.
Those wanting a wifi-only 128GB iPad are looking at about $799. Wifi and cellular will run $929. That’s almost as much money as a baseline MacBook Air will cost you, but twice the storage.
Apple seems to be selling the larger-capacity iPad to business people rather than regular consumers (though were sure they don’t care, as long as we buy it). While it may be a bit much for most of us, it seems to be a move for Apple that can help them secure their space in enterprise. At the very least, they can say they have the most readily-available 128GB tablet on the market (and if there is another 128GB tablet out there, we haven’t seen it.).
