Apple Debuts AppStore.com Links, Expect Increased App Downloads

This definitely sounds like something that will help boost app downloads and sales. Apple’s AppStore.com links debuted last night during the Super Bowl.

It’s a feature that developers learned about last week, but was just shown to the public during a Star Trek: Into the Darkness trailer for the big game. Now anyone navigating to AppStore.com/StarTrekApp will be taken directly to the it’s App Store page where they can download it.

The Mac App Store has a similar thing going on with AppStore.com/Mac/.

This will likely make it much easier for consumers to quickly download the apps they want. It’s likely to me a good deal faster than launching iTunes or the App Store (if you’re on your iOS device) and searching for the app, etc. as we normally do. On the blogger end, it will be much easier to link folks to apps if we have that URL. See? Everybody wins.
