The Aloft Hotel in Cupertino, which is actually just two blocks from Apple HQ, now has an Apple TV in each of its 123 guest rooms. Through this, visitors can watch movies and TV shows through iTunes, Hulu, Netflix or other such apps.
Interestingly, the box can be customized for the hotel chains. That’s a bit unusual for Apple. For instance, it can have logos relating to the hotel chain. More useful, however, is that it can integrate hotel maps, menus and other relevant information for guests.
Guests can customize the Apple TVs to their liking for the duration of their stay. For instance, you can use your personal iTunes and Netflix accounts. Once you are done, the system is wiped, and your information goes bye-bye.
Perhaps more hotels will begin to incorporate Apple TV setups. Personally, I’d feel a little safer taking mine and plugging it in, if they allow it.
