Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller Tweeted a link to a report from research firm F-Secure. According to the report, Android has many more vulnerabilities than iOS. He added, “be safe out there.”
The number of mobile threat families and variants increased significantly from 2010 to 2012. Android malware made up a majority of the threats to mobile devices out there. According to the chart, 301 mobile threats were discovered in 2012. Android variants made up 79 percent, and those for iOS consisted of 0.7 percent.
