You can’t hear me sigh, but I did just now. That’s because the latest rumor says the iPhone 5S and the iPad 5 are set for an announcement on June 29 of this year. That’s just a little after WWDC normally takes place (early June). Will Apple want two keynotes in one month? Then there is the fact that all sources are “unnamed” and other indications that the original site has no idea what it’s talking about. Sorry, but it takes quite a bit to get to the point where you have reliable inside sources.
The report, by a site called Gizmorati, actually, says that Apple will hold the event at its headquarters in Cupertino. Why? Who knows. They just say so. The event is supposedly called “Original Passion, New Ideas.” The problem with reports like this one is that they like to immediately point to unnamed inside sources. That means nothing if you can’t back it up. Not just any website gets info from insiders telling them when the next iPad is going to launch. Apple doesn’t typically hold two keynotes in one month (one would be WWDC, most likely software, and the other would be this). It just doesn’t make sense.
