According to a recent study, only 16 percent of users will retry a faulty app a third or fourth time. This means it’s important to get it right.
A recent study by Compuware shows that most users don’t try an app more than a few times if it’s messed up. If you’re lucky, they will give it a second shot. A third and forth time? Forget about most of them coming back.
The survey was conducted on 3,534 users across the US, UK, France, Germany, India and Japan. Most won’t try the app a third or fourth time. Those people actually sound pretty generous if they go back that many times.
All apps are prone to some issues, but too many screw-ups is too many screw-ups.
Oh, also pointed out by the study is slow load times for apps? What’s slow? Anything that takes more than two seconds to launch. That’s probably worth keeping in mind if you’re an app developer. Though I think consumers may be a bit more lenient with game load times. I know I am.
