YouTube for iOS Enables You to Stream to Internet-capable TVs, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

YouTube iPad

The YouTube app for iOS now has the ability to stream to internet-connected TVs, Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

If you have Apple TV already, this is no huge deal, but many people don’t. This now enables them to connect and stream directly to their consoles and smart TVs. It’s just one more feature for consumers to use. Website TUAW calls it a move to compete against AirPlay and Apple TV, but it doesn’t seem like the case. It’s just another feature, and it’s probably likely to get use out of people who don’t have Apple TV anyway. It’s not all that useful of a feature if you already have Apple’s set-top box.

The app is available, of course, on the App Store:
