Apple’s App Store generates more than Google Play, but Google’s service is picking up the pace when it comes to what’s available and the revenue earned.
According to data from App Annie, (via CultofAndroid) the App Store pulls in 2.6 times as much as Google Play. However, Apple was pulling in four times as much as Google in the fourth quarter of 2012. That means Google is gaining ground when it comes to app sales.
In other words, Google Play is growing fast. It’s just part of the growing popularity of Android and it’s app store.
