Apple is reportedly beginning production of its upcoming iPhone, likely to be the iPhone 4S, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal. If true, this handset could come as early as this summer. However, that remains unclear.
Apple may also be preparing its lower-cost iPhone. It’s rumored to have the same 4-inch screen as the iPhone 5, but will be marketed at the more budget markets. If the Journal’s reports are correct (and they usually are) we may see the iPhone 5S in August, while the cheaper model releases later this year.
Also worth noting is that the iPhone 5S is supposedly the last iPhone Steve Jobs had a hand in creating. After this one, it will be interesting to see where Apple handsets go.
