Foxconn is hiring additional employees in hopes of ramping up production for Apple’s next handset, which Apple will probably name the iPhone 5S.
The reports come from both Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal. Foxconn upped its workforce in Zhengzhou, eastern China. The rumor is that Apple wants production on the current iOS device models to be ramped up, and for production to begin on the iPhone 5S. The new handset should go into production during Q2 of 2013.
The plant has somewhere between 250,000 and 300,000 employees. Supposedly, Foxconn is hiring 10,000 assembly line workers per week since the end of March.
