A small Apple shop in China tried to trick Apple by turning in 121 iPhone 4S parts. The shop claimed the parts were broken, and are reportedly valued at just under $500 each, as they make up the most important parts of the iPhone’s internals.
Believe it or not, Apple replaced the parts. However, a month later, Apple discovered that the parts were fake. Apple investigated the issue, and it led to at least one arrest. It’s pretty insane that the parts were that convincing. Still, that just goes to show how well-made counterfeits are in China.
Personally, I think it would be neat to check out one of these counterfeits up close, just to see how truly convincing it is.
