Yesterday the App Store reached 50 billion downloads. Apple announced the winner, Brandon Ashmore of Mentor, Ohio.
Ashmore downloaded the Say the Same Thing app, developed by Space Inch, according to Apple. Happy Brandon now has $10,000 worth of spending money for the App Store. 50 other folks will get a $500 iTunes gift card, which is definitely a good deal of spending money, and will get you a bunch of cool stuff.
As Apple’s press release explains, Apple counts unique downloads. If you re-download an app or update, it doesn’t count on the company’s ticker.
Looks like Apple has a lot to be happy about. So does Mr. Ashmore, and 50 other people who downloaded some apps that day.
