For those using App Store credit to get applications or media for their mobile device, it can often feel like you are purchasing in the dark as you download different content. Since you are not always looking at your available balance when you are buying apps you may begin to be confused as to exactly how much you have left on your remaining balance. This is actually easy enough to check right from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, and you do not even need to sit back down at your Home computer. Here is an easy way to check your available account balance at the App Store right from your iOS device.
It should also be noted that the App Store and iTunes account is also for your computer and not simply for your iOS device. This means that when you check your account balance, this is also true for app or media purchases from your computer as well. This is all attached to the same Apple ID, which is the same for both types of devices and is meant to identify a user across multiple devices. All gift cards can also be used universally and are not specific to one device or department.
Begin by opening up the App Store app on your iPhone. Go into the Featured setting, which is the option to the far left on the lower task bar. This will likely be the section that opens at the launch of the application. At the very bottom of the Featured section you will see the remaining account balance from the credit, as long as you are logged in. If you do not have any available account balance, or simply have not had a gift card to begin with, it will simply list your email address and the ability to redeem gift cards or send gifts. If it does not list it then you may need to log in again or the new credit has not yet been recognized and just needs a little time. The amount that is listed will also be true in the iTunes store, which is simply a different storefront for the same account usage and base sales operation
