This isn’t really a surprise, but in case you were expecting an iPad mini this summer, it probably won’t happen.
According to KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a dude who’s been amazingly accurate in the past (to the point where we believe it isn’t just guesswork, and he either has a good source at Apple or a very good source through suppliers),
He says that Apple probably won’t get the iPad mini into mass production before October. It has something to do with production issues with the Retina display. Where Kuo does seem to speculate, is in his guess that Apple may go with a more affordable mini at some point to help boost its sales against other low-cost tablets.
He also retouched on the full-sized iPad rumor. It’s pretty much the same one we’ve been hearing for some time: the iPad will come later this year with a casing similar to the iPad mini.
