Sid Meier (the guy who likes to put his name on all his games) recently released a new game for iOS called Ace Patrol.
It’s a strategy/combat game in which players fly around in biplanes and plan their flight paths and gun down other enemy pilots.
Strategy is personally a bit stress-inducing for myself, but the folks marketing the game say that it’s based on many smaller-scale battles (2-on-2 from what we’ve seen) with four pilots. Apparently, the developers didn’t want it to become too overwhelming or too much to keep track of.
Here are some of the features from the App Store description:
•Advance from Aviator to Ace in over 120 missions using 30 authentic aircraft
•Earn promotions, equipment upgrades and advanced maneuvers like rolls, loops and slips
•Unlock new Aces with special skill sets to expand your gameplay options
•Tilt and motion camera controls offer an immersive 3D strategy experience
•Single Player campaign & Multiplayer missions with leaderboards through Game Center
You can pick it up from the App Store. It’s free.
