Apple TV and iPhone Combine for Motion-Controlled Wii-like Tennis Game

If you have an Apple TV with AirPlay Mirroring and an iPhone that also supports the function, there’s a game now that truly shows what combining the handset and the set-top box will do for you.

It makes use of the AirPlay mirroring feature, and your iPhone’s motion-detecting functions (accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer) these combine to give you control over your character in a game of tennis, much like we experienced with Nintendo’s Wii console in 2006.

The game is called Motion Tennis.

It’s very cool to see something like this on the App Store, and it cleverly combines Apple TV with the iPhone to create something of a gaming console. It’s not revolutionary for gaming as a whole, but it’s a good step for the app store. It will set you back about $8.
