Apple has updated Configurator. It’s a Mac App used for iOS device deployment in the work area. Basically, it’s a tool for network administrators to configure iOS devices and set them up with apps to use in the workplace.
It’s nothing that most people need to use, unless they monitor a bunch of iPads in a workplace. Perhaps a family can use it if Mom or Dad want control over the apps all the kids are downloading and installing on their iPads, iPhones and iPod touch devices.
Here’s what’s new:
– Significantly improved reliability, scalability and performance.
– A new status view that includes time estimates and error information with recovery suggestions.
– Ability to cancel scheduled or in-progress operations.
– Administrators can install apps on devices configured to not allow users to install apps.
The update is available through the Software Update under the Apple menu.
