Plants vs. Zombies 2 has been delayed until “some time this summer.”
This is pushed back from its original July 18 date. The good news, for iOS users at least, is that it will still debut for the platform. It’s not clear why the game is facing a delay, but TUAW speculates that it can be a number of things (noting that the E3 build looked fairly complete). It’s possible that the EA, which owns Popcap, wanted to hold the game over because it conflicted with some other releases, or Popcap wanted to adjust the freemium content into something that may be more favorable amongst gamers. Those are just speculation, however.
Let’s hope the game comes soon, either way.
